Tunku Rodrigues is a security strategist, professional instructor, and author whose career has been shaped by frontline security operations, executive protection, and the development and leadership of security personnel. His experience includes providing executive protection for prominent figures in entertainment and regional government, building security teams for established security companies, and training professionals serving some of the industry’s premier security organizations.
Working across frontline and leadership roles, Rodrigues gained firsthand insight into the responsibilities of protecting people, property, and organizational interests. His experience spans protective operations, threat recognition, vulnerability assessment, operational planning, personnel development, emergency preparedness, incident management, and security oversight. It also exposed him to the challenges that arise when communication breaks down, supervision is inconsistent, or security programs lack the structure and accountability necessary to function effectively.
Credentials, Professional Standards, and GTSD Academy
Rodrigues’ professional credentials include USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor, Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions Security Officer Instructor, Maryland State Police Firearms Instructor, Delaware Recognized Firearms Instructor, and Stop the Bleed Instructor. His professional development also includes emergency preparedness and incident management training.
Alongside his operational career, he established GTSD Academy, initially focused on firearms education, personal protection, and self defense. When Maryland introduced mandatory security officer training requirements, Rodrigues recognized an opportunity to improve professional preparation and help ensure that those entrusted with protecting businesses and communities received the training their responsibilities demand.
Under his leadership, GTSD Academy developed a 12 hour Initial Security Guard Training Program approved by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions.
From Experience to an Integrated Security Infrastructure
Rodrigues is the creator of The GLOTAC Protocol™, a six pillar security and preparedness methodology encompassing threat recognition, vulnerability assessment, environmental awareness, preparation and mitigation, response and decision making, and continuous improvement.
Throughout his career, he encountered recurring problems that affected both security providers and their clients. Fragmented communication, inconsistent oversight, limited operational visibility, inadequate follow through, and disconnected systems often prevented organizations from realizing the full value of their security investments. Conversations with fellow operators and security leaders reinforced the need for a more comprehensive approach.
Rather than treating these issues as isolated failures, Rodrigues began developing a model that connects security leadership, assessment, professional training, technology, incident management, corrective action, and executive oversight.
That work shaped GTSD’s evolution into an AI Powered Integrated Security Infrastructure Company.
Today, he directs the development of GTSD Security OS™, GTSD Security Director, GTSD AI, Secure Your Spot™, and the Integrated Security Department™, bringing practical security knowledge together with operational intelligence, technology, and coordinated management.
