The GLOTAC Cycle
Before an Incident
Recognize, Assess, Observe, Prepare. Identify warning signs, examine where people, property and processes are exposed, watch how conditions change, and correct priority gaps. In practice this is the work of a GTSD security assessment and the corrective actions that follow.
During an Incident
Respond. Make deliberate, proportionate and lawful decisions using plans, roles and communication that were prepared in advance.
After an Incident
Recover, Reassess. Restore operations, review what happened, and feed the lessons back into the next assessment. The cycle does not end, which is how a security program keeps improving.
